Party-Approved Keto Philly Cheesesteak Bites

Party-Approved Keto Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Bites Recipe

February 09, 2022 2 min read

If ever there was a recipe that epitomized the South meeting the North, it just might be this one. Keto Philly Bites. Yup, we went there… and we made it low carb, keto-friendly and cheesy as all get out.

These little babies are super easy to make (some might even say the lowly college stud could take a crack at ‘em) and baked with lots of flavor. Forgive us, did we mention they’re low carb?

How’d we do it? Our test kitchen chefs stayed up all night to get this recipe juuuuuuust right. And when they realized it still needed a little tweaking the next morning, they buttoned their chef coats back up and went back at it, all over again.

But, hey. It was worth it. And we think the proof is in the smiles that come after the first mouthful of our Keto Philly Bites. Watch how we made ‘em here.

Now WHO makes the best Philly Cheesesteak? That’s right, you do.

  • 3/4 cup Southern Recipe Small Batch Salt & Pepper Pork Rinds, crushed
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella
  • 2 oz cream cheese
  • egg
  • 1/2 lb cooked roast beef
  • 1 cup white cheese sauce
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Keto-friendly Frying Oil of your choice (we prefer lard or Avocado oil for their high smoke points!)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Sauté the onions and peppers and set aside (because ohhhhhh yeah, we’ll be coming back for ‘em later).
  2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, mix mozzarella and cream cheese. Microwave for 45 seconds and then let cool. You’re gonna be tempted to eat this cheese right outta the bowl, but please… contain yourself. The wait’ll be worth it.
  3. Add the egg and crushed pork rinds to the cheese and mix well.
  4. Using your hands (you better believe they should be washed!), form the dough into 2" balls and place onto wax paper. Fold over or use another piece of wax paper and press the dough balls into flat discs.
  5. Place roast beef, peppers and onions, and a tablespoon of white cheese sauce onto the flat dough disc. Fold over like a dumpling and press edges shut with a fork.
  6. Fry in 350°F oil until golden brown. Drop it like it’s hot… because it is. It’s very hot. You’re gonna wanna be careful here.
  7. Enjoy (tenderly)!
